MD, MSM, PhD

Medical doctor, Master’s degree in School Medicine, PhD in Public Health.

She is a Graduated Senior Assistant of Public Health with more than 20 years’ experience in health promotion and tobacco prevention in the General-Directorate of Health. Since 2012, she is the Director of the National Programme for smoking Prevention and Tobacco control, at the Directorate-General of Health. She is the Portuguese representative in the Expert Group on tobacco policy, coordinated by the European Commission, and a member of the Committee of the Tobacco Products Directive. She is the Focal point of the WHO Framework Convention for Tobacco Control implementation. She also teaches at the National School of Public Health, since 1991, as an Invited Assistant, and, since 2011, as an Invited Assistant Professor.
