National Public Health Surveillance Laboratory
State budget organization – National Public Health Surveillance Laboratory (NPHSL) was founded on the 11th of October, 2007, the founder – The State Public Health Service under the Ministry of Health. NPHSL was accredited in 2015 February 20th by Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA). Our Quality Control Department have been certified in compliance with quality standard LTS EN ISO 9001:2001. Quality Control Department is the only one institution in Lithuania, which can carry on quality control with more than 180 reference strains. Our laboratory provides different type of services by using modern methods and the newest technique. They are: microbiological, parasitological, serological, chemical, physical and clinical diagnostic laboratory tests. We also provide assessment of working environment, professional risk assessment. We seek to assure better status of public health quality and to make our input into modern public health surveillance system. The activity of laboratory is oriented into providing health surveillance services. Our work is to determine different impact on human health, to prevent harm and to provide suggestions how to solve the problems. Laboratory offers a variety of chemical tests: air (atmosphere, work environment, ambient) tests; water (boring wells, artesian wells, dialysis, mineral, mineralized, river, lakes etc.) tests; outflow (domestic, industrial, rain, canalization) tests; soil and ooze tests; food and food additive tests; tests of non-food products (make-up products, materials contacting food, toys, medical devices).
