Deirdre Fitzell

Environmental Health Officer

Deirdre Fitzell graduated with a B.Sc. Dip. Environmental Health from Trinity College Dublin in 1999. She started her career in Dublin City Council working in air pollution, public nuisances, housing and water quality monitoring.

She then moved to Cork where she worked primarily in food safety. In 2004 she moved to London where she worked as a service manager for EH & Licensing in Westminster City Council. There she managed a team of 45 people and played an active role in preparation for the London Olympics in 2012. From there she moved to Limerick and worked as an EHO until she moved to the National Tobacco Control Unit in 2020.
