The 14th annual conference of the International Society for the Prevention of Tobacco Induced Diseases (ISPTID) took place in Izmir, Turkey. Conference hosted by Ege University, in the Ataturk Cultural Center was held from October 4th to October 6th 2018. Within the ISPTID, special session was dedicated to the Joint Action on Tobacco Control.
Objective of the symposium which was held under title “Implementing the Tobacco Product Directive (TPD) in Europe – The Joint Action on Tobacco Control (JATC)” was to disseminate information on the TPD and JATC and to foster communication and collaboration between relevant stakeholders. Participants had opportunity to learn about aims and planned activities within work packages of the JATC with special focus on the importance and potentials of the EU Common Entry Gate (EU-CEG).
During the conference, leaflets with general information about JATC were distributed to all participants, while one pager was inserted into the abstract book.
Representatives from European countries, but also countries from other continents expressed their interest to receive in future more information about this valuable EU funded project.
