The mission of Estonian Health Board is to act on behalf of public health and a healthy living environment.

Estonian Health Board has five main departments: healthcare, communicable diseases, chemical and product safety, medical devices, environmental health. In addition, Estonian Health Board has its central laboratory under which are chemistry, physics and communicable diseases laboratories.

Under chemical and product safety there are among other responsibilities the tobacco CA, EUCEG management, etc. Under environmental health, there is among other responsibilities the risk assessment evaluation and surveillance over smoking rooms.
