The AGES is a government owned agency attached to the Federal Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Environment. AGES executes federal state tasks in the areas of agriculture, tobacco, food and feed safety, infectious diseases and veterinary surveillance, radiation protection, medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

A group of AGES staff from the “Office for Tobacco Coordination” and the “Department of Integrative Risk Assessment, Data & Statistics” form together with a group of staff from the Affiliated Entity – Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health Care and Consumer Protection, BMSGPK (Department Ombudsman’s Office for Non-Smoker Protection, Legal and Technical Affairs Tobacco and Related Products and Other Nicotine Products, Alcohol and Behavioral Addictions, National Tobacco and Nicotine Strategy) the JATC2 team.
